home attention

homes need attention.  they just do.  even if you buy a new home-- thinking that you will have less maintenance-- your home will need attention.  the floors need vacuuming and moping, the baseboards need wiping, the walls need periodic painting, the lawn needs mowing, the gardens need weeding, the lightbulbs will need changing, the counters, pictures, and shelves need dusting-- and the whole thing needs intention-- direct attention focused on making a house feel like home.

without attention homes start to feel neglected and not-so-great to be in.

since we finished our shop move i have had a lot more time for my home.  i have been cleaning, moving some furniture around slightly-- and thinking quite a bit about painting.

it is good to be home.
