pieces not fitting

i pride myself on being able to take whatever a client has, and put it together in a room in a new way and make it work.  it is true, however, that sometimes there is a piece that just doesn't fit.

as i am putting together a room, or designing a whole house, i often find that there is some part that just isn't working.  a chair that doesn't look right with the rest, a table that is the wrong shape, a window that i want to look out over a meadow but that just isn't finding a place in a wall.  usually, when this happens, i try that piece that doesn't fit in some other spot-- and sometimes it finds a home.  but i am willing, eventually, to give in to the the reality that sometimes there is a piece that just doesn't fit.

and then i just let it go... allowing everything else to fall into place-- beautifully.
