bathroom cabinet

would you just look at that little cabinet with the three little drawers in front?  could it be more perfect for this spot?  well-- it was bought AFTER the bathroom was finished-- found, serendipitously, at one of my favorite shops.

this was one of the hardest bathrooms i have ever designed.  it was carved out of an existing second floor bedroom-- which we turned into a bathroom, a laundry room, and a new stairwell to the first floor-- three separate and distinct spaces.  because the ceiling downstairs was so low (under seven feet) there was very little flexibility in where the plumbing could go for this bathroom-- so figuring out where everything could go (and flow well) was tricky.  finding a way to make it beautiful in any case was the easy part-- it has southern exposure, lots of light, natural materials...

the bathroom vanity was built at the same depth as the adjacent tub/shower-- that ledge with the mirror on it is the wall between the two-- in order to best accommodate the different elements of a new bathroom in the existing space.  the vanity has lots of storage underneath, but was VERY deep-- until i found that little cabinet!

Great idea! I like the cute little sink too--

thanks! and-- it is a regular sized sink! the counter is 36" deep, total-- WAY deeper than the usual 18"-24" for a bathroom vanity. thus the real need for that little cabinet...
