small business

over the last several years our business has grown steadily into a thriving little place. there is not always a lot of money, but there are always lots of things to do, people to chat with, and new ideas to develop. there is always a lot going on.

at times people wonder at how much we do. and at times we feel overwhelmed.

running a shop, design business, online shop, the wedding registries, the workshops, the teas-- and keeping them all fresh and lively-- AND keeping up with the interns, sweeping, dusting, polishing, AND working away on developing the new ideas-- it is an awful lot. there are constant things to keep up with, paperwork to do, bills to be paid, phone calls to return, e-mails to respond to-- and creative projects to carry forward.

and yet that is the nature of small business-- owning a small business means that there are many plates to be spinning at any given moment-- and all of them have to be kept spinning in order for us to survive and succeed in the big business world that we live in.

it is not for everyone.

but i love it.
